Counseling + Therapy

  • Individuals

Individual counseling is an effective way to take a deeper look into what keeps you feeling stuck. You and your counselor will work one-on-one to develop a treatment plan to start working toward lasting change.

  • Couples

Couples counseling is for those who are here preparing for marriage, couples who want to strengthen their relationship, and others who are trying to restore their marriage. We have trained specialists on staff who utilize Gottman, Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS programs which use evidence-based relationship interventions and skill-building exercises tailored specifically for you and your partner. We also offer Discernment Counseling. Learn more about it here.

  • Families

Family counseling helps those going through difficult seasons, preparing for changes, navigating new dynamics, and much more. Through evidenced-based work, your family will work with a trained counselor to develop goals, learn effective communication skills, and build skills specific to the needs of your family system.

  • Adolescents & Children

Adolescent counseling helps equip families with practical tools that promote healthy development and effective communication. Our counselors help adolescents prepare for important transitions, navigate conflict resolution and develop the skills necessary to thrive in relationships and career. Our play therapist uses innovative and creative approaches in play therapy to aid healthy nurturing and development for kids as young as four years old. Learn more about play therapy here.

  • In-Person

If you are in need of financial assistance, our therapists reserve a certain amount of client openings at reduced rates. Please contact us for more information.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for health care items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call our office at 513-759-9744.

  • Rivertown Wellness is a self-pay practice which means we are out-of-network for insurance companies. There are a number of benefits by not working directly with insurance companies, which you can find below. However, some insurance companies will reimburse a certain percentage for out-of-network counseling services and we are happy to provide the necessary form for you to submit. If you have HSA or FSA accounts, you can also contact your account provider to see if you are able to use these accounts for your services. If you're unsure of what options you have, give your insurance company a quick call and ask about "out-of-network" mental health providers. Please note, there is no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for any payments you make.

Here are some questions you could ask your insurance company:

“Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?”

“What company manages my mental health benefits?”

“Is there an out-of-network deductible? What is it?”

“What percentage of the cost is covered once my deductible is met?

  • Confidentiality | You and your counselor are the only ones who will know the details of you and your therapy. Outside of legal limitations to confidentiality, nobody else has access to your chart, including insurance companies, their employees and anyone else involved in processing your claim.

Individuality | Most insurance companies require you to have a diagnosis. You may not need one! Although we are licensed to diagnose when needed, we also understand not everyone seeking counseling services warrants a diagnosis.

Flexibility | By using self-pay, you won't have any limits on what your therapy should look like. You have more influence on the focus, duration and frequency of therapy.

Responsibility | Research shows that clients who self-pay tend to yield more positive outcomes. If you're paying out-of-pocket, you have a bit more motivation and incentive to make the most of therapy.

As an out-of-network provider, we have partnered with Mentaya to help clients save money on therapy. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for our services.

Our clinicians seek membership and certifications from organizations you can trust.
