Who Should Attend?
Any mom in any stage
Moms who feel lost, alone, and overwhelmed
You do not have to have a diagnosis of a postpartum mood disorder to be part of this group, but women experiencing those symptoms are welcome!
What is the Motherhood Group?
The experience of becoming a mom is full of paradoxes - universal and unique, uniting and isolating, full of joy and full of hardship. This Motherhood Group is a space where we gather together to hold these truths together as we strive to make sense of how our whole self intersects with our experience as a mom. The content for this group is adapted from attachment theory, trauma informed care best practices, the mothercentic approach, and internal family systems therapy.
What Will You Learn?
Understand how the experiences you have throughout your life shape your beliefs about yourself, other people, and the world around you
Recognize signs of activation or deactivation within the nervous system
Gain skills for reaching and expanding one’s Window of Capacity
Identify protective parts that are burdened by the experiences of motherhood
Engage “self-energy” to offer acceptance to these burdened parts.
Please note, there will be no childcare provided. We ask that children over 3 mo. of age not join us for the group so that moms can effectively focus on participating with the group content.
Cost
